6063 Aluminum Bar
Aluminum 6063 bar is a low alloyed Al-Mg-Si high plasticity alloy with many excellent characteristics. It can be strengthened by heat treatment to improve impact toughness and is not sensitive to notching. Secondly, it has good thermoplasticity and can be extruded at high speed into a variety of profiles with complex structure, thin-walled and hollow or forged into forged parts with complex structure, wide range of quenching temperature and low quenching sensitivity. After extruding and forging off the mould, as long as the temperature is higher than the quenching temperature, it can be quenched using the method of spraying or penetrating water. The surface of this alloy is very smooth and easily anodised and coloured.

Product Description

6063 aluminum rods are the only Al-Mg-Si alloys for which no stress corrosion cracking has been detected in heat-treatable aluminium alloys. However, quenching can adversely affect strength if left at room temperature for a period of time before ageing (parking effect).

Hardness:

The hardness of 6063 aluminum bars can vary depending on the treatment.

Generally, the hardness of 6063 aluminum alloy ranges from about 75-120 HB. if heat treated, Rockwell hardness may reach 20-40 HRB or 40-60 HRC. in addition, if the aluminium alloy is strengthened by cold working, the hardness may be even higher due to the effects of cold work hardening.

Applications:

Often used in construction profiles, irrigation tubing, extrusions for vehicles, pedestals, furniture, lifts, railings, etc., and decorative components of different colours for aircraft, ships, light industrial sectors, buildings, etc.
