Commonly used pure aluminum foil for lithium batteries has various alloy grades such as 1060, 1050, 1145, 1235, etc., and has -O, H14, -H24, -H22, -H18 and other states. The surface of the battery aluminum foil has no color difference, no oil, no serious oil smell, and no oil spots visible to the naked eye. The surface tension should meet the requirement of not less than 32 dynes in the dyne pen test. In appearance, the aluminum foil roll must be wound with moderate tightness, the end face should be flat and clean, the edges should be smooth, and the roll misalignment should not exceed ±1.0mm.

In new energy vehicle batteries, if the commonly used 12μm aluminum foil is replaced by 10μm or 8μm aluminum foil, the aluminum foil required per unit energy can be reduced to 0.38kg/kwh (10μm aluminum foil) and 0.30kg/kwh (8μm aluminum foil), thus making the battery The energy density of the system is increased by 1.2% and 2.4% respectively.

There is a close relationship between the thickness and properties of aluminum foil.

The thickness of the aluminum foil will affect the capacity of the battery. Within a certain range, as the thickness of the aluminum foil increases, the battery capacity also increases. However, when the thickness of the aluminum foil reaches a certain level, the increase in battery capacity will gradually level off, because excessive thickness of the aluminum foil will affect the diffusion rate of lithium ions, thereby affecting the battery capacity.
